About my artwork: STATEMENT Paco Dalmau

Currently I base my work on understanding, using like visual medium the painting, the psychology, physiognomy and aesthetic features in the empty space of the human figure. I want to show the human being alien to any kind of social conditioning, cultural, geographical, without clear references or trial of their position within the established roles in different societies that inhabit the world today. In my work I give equal weight to the figure itself, treating it from a figurative standpoint, in terms of their environment, color spaces in which the figure is surrounded by nothing and located, occupying the space, according to formal aesthetic demands the same work in every situation.

PLYPTYCHS: FAMILY PORTRAITS

In this series of work I give protagonism marked aesthetically to the geometric squared model, this resource of measure used in the drawing acquires an aesthetic crucial importance in the comprehension of the different paintings framed inside this work. The geometric squared model acquires relief, giving depth and separation between the panels that compose the polyptych. The motivation, for the composition of the image, is the obtaining of the total harmony between the image and the geometric squared (physical) model, the balance visual; none of two aesthetic characteristics can stand out, since this would break the formal and conceptual intention of the work
