Hi Roger- Just got back from Ashland, OR where Liz and I were visiting my sister. Beautiful town. Working on several new series, including one called "Thickets". I think you'd like it. Haven't posted here yet (they're on Facebook- are you a member?), but maybe I'll do what you do and post them on this LA group, rather than to my personal page that, like everyone else's here, gets very little interaction. Peace! Marcel

Beautiful! Colors, texture, light & shading... abstract yet surprisingly organic.

Slides to record your work (and to show to people who can't see it in person)? That's crazy these days! Absolutely photograph them digitally and then 'tweak' them in Photoshop or whatever photo software you use (eg: iPhoto that comes prepackaged from Apple with most Mac computers): exposure, color (hue and temperature), saturation, contrast, black levels, white levels, level of detail in shadows, level of detail in the highlights, sharpness, definition, retouch (to get rid of any specks, dust or small flaws), crop, rotate, etc. You can go through all those adjustments in a few minutes to make sure the digital image represents your work most accurately and as you'd ideally like.

There are definite pros and cons to digital vs film, but when the dramatically lower cost, greater mobility, instantaneous review and the ability to easily use powerful post-production tools like PhotoShop are considered; digital is clearly the way to go. I do miss the ultra sharp resolution and vivid colors of Kodachrome though,

In response to your Q on my wall- All my images are digital although the older ones were originally shot on film. None of the images I've posted are of prints; if the original was on film, I scanned the negative or transparency to create a digital file.
