About my artwork
My work takes the form of detailed studies of constructed environments; it is founded on a Questioning and translation of an ideal for living.

Models for such developments as London's Thamesmead and Docklands tolerate as a backdrop for which to hang further considerations of social conditioning. Through a confrontation with fact and sequence of dialectics attempts are made to explore the depths of society and human behaviour.

Duality and the contrasting of themes underpin much of these works, degeneration and re-creation, upheaval and renewal, symptom and the symptomatic. Concepts of culture, power, politics and history are confronted through the detailing of forensic type study of the piss car park, KFC and McDonalds in Friday night sick, the week at the office and weekends off at Tesco.

A vanity to capture a form of truth has rendered the work in exile of human presence, the spaces we inhabit and the traces we leave behind are presented as more telling documents of cause and consequence. Ultimately these paintings make for a 21st century portrait. A nature painting of rich concrete carpets and sprawling forests both glass and steel, a hijacked fostered utopian for everyone with imagination enough to challenge.

Everytime I try to paint something diferent a "landscape" per say, I end up painting a human figure... is that weird? I think we should paint whatever we're drawn to... Your paintings are very strong and agressive.... yet they seem quiet and nostalgic... I really like them... I think you should keep exploring this area until one day you've explored enough of it that a hand or a face will pop up...
