Artists I like: Fra Angelico, Giotto, Cimabue, El Greco, Gorky, Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Nutt, Miro, Matta, Magritte, Ernst, Luc Tuymans, John Lennon, many many others

What exhibitions are good at the moment?: Probably not many, but then I'm a jaded skeptic who marvels at how eager the "post-everything" art crowd is to enthuse over the Emperor's new clothes.

I have never understood the point of spending a lifetime struggling to develop taste and discernment, only NOT to pass judgment on the brilliant and the beautiful, the bland and the banal. And I think you'd agree that a critic who cannot separate the wheat from the chaff is about as useful as knife with no blade, a paper teapot. What I find really galling is that your aptly described " PC culture Nazis who say "How dare you make a judgment?". are often so ill versed in the critical theory they so eagerly espouse and misunderstand so perfectly.

Never mind the artists, to be honest I have trouble taking quite a lot that passes itself off as for art seriously. Maybe it's me?
