New American Landscape deadline extension
Great news! If you haven't yet submitted your work, there is still time! We have extended the deadline for submissions to the end of the year. December 31st 2009 is the new and final date! It is still free to submit until you are chosen (see original post for details). With the work we have so far, we are beginning to understand some of the unique directions artists are taking this subject. We encourage any and all submissions and are really looking to stretch the boundaries of this idea! Keep them coming, everyone!
The New American Landscape”
A collection of contemporary artists whose work redefines the Americas and it’s inhabitants. “The New American Landscape” will represent over 40 artists working in 2D, 3D, and 4D mediums with nearly 200 pages of full-color artwork. From this collection, a few select artists will be asked to show their work in a month long group exhibition. The book is scheduled for print at the end of 2009 to be made available in stores by 2010.
Call for Artists:
Entry in this competition is free.
Send up to four (4) images in low resolution jpeg format to email@example.com
Include with your email, a current artist statement and C.V.
Your artist statement should express your artwork’s relation to the theme “American Landscape”.
This theme can be interpreted in many ways, and may include (but not limited to) portraits, landscapes, abstracts, etc. and can be in any medium (painting, illustration, photography, sculpture, video, installation, etc.) with the exception of sound (as we do not have the means to
distribute a sound file with the printed book).
For video or installation work, please submit up to four (4) stills of your work. You may combine a sequence of images to represent a moment of your video or installation into one image that will only count as one of the four you may send.
Artists will be chosen on the sole basis of their work, and not on their C.V.
A panel of judges, consisting of Sprocketbox staff, artists, and curators will choose the artists to be represented in the book.
Each chosen artist will be asked to pay a submission fee of $20 (without a book) or $35 (with a book and free shipping), for which they will be given four pages in the book showing four art pieces total with the artist’s statement used in the text that will accompany the images.
All artist’s from around the world are invited to participate.
NEW Deadline for submissions is December 31st, 2009.
