Musk Ming looks for a way to combine old Chinese traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities. He has been drawing for over 10 years.
Beating the (post)communists with their own aesthetics, Musk Ming masterfully (and subversively) appropriates the saccharine Maoist propaganda illustration style to explore China's rich but suppressed queer history. Musk Ming stresses that sexual liberalism and tolerance are a historical part of Chinese culture, not a 'new capitalist idea' from the Western world.
On Feb. 26th 2011 Musk Ming takes part in Warehouse
