Drawing by removing paper layers help needed ??

Continuing  with my project into drawing methods I have been looking at cutting paper and by drawing by removing the surface layer of the paper to enable the differing surface texture underneath to  produce the image. Unfortunately this does not photograph well at all so can not add images but would like to know if anyone is aware of any artist who work in this way for my research journal.

Thank you

Anthotype printing??

Experimentation started today as part of my brief into trying new media as part of a 2D drawing assignment. I want the materials I use to in some way contribute to the message I am trying to express. Working to highlight the human rights issue surrounding Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) I have fought the urge to use obvious media such as blood. Instead I am looking towards plant matter (for a small body of work), to incorporate the obvious plant elements used during the ceremonies which are…

Escaping the monster in my head...

Life is wasted if we chose to remain in the shadows and to shy away from possible critisism and pulic view. I am creating this blog with the hope that I can gain the confidence to show my work, to receive public evaluation and to encourage self reflection.  All of this is not easy for most people but I think for an artist it is even more difficult. We spend our time engulfed in personal critisism and self doubt, believing we are not worthy of public attention or acceptance. Today I start…
