If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Conceptual, Drawing, Event, Installation, Painting, Performance, Photography, Sculpture, Video
We are a collaborative trio who make work which responds to the situation in which we find ourselves. The most distinctive part of our practice is our ability to procrastinate and be distracted whilst forcing ourselves to come up with ideas.
As a collaborative trio we are going to make a piece of work that communicates the frustration of not being able to come up with a great idea, whilst also commenting on the notion of the artist as a master/genius, one who endows stuff with the quality of art. We disregard the status of the art object as something untouchable; with the collaborative nature of our practice enabling us to do this in a freer, less self conscious way, thus going against the idea of being intent on creating a ‘masterpiece’.
Having fun is more important to us than creating ‘masterpieces.’
We make a conscious effort not to spend money on works simply to give them a higher status; rather we feel that last-minute solutions are oftern the most vibrant and successful.
