I am...
A recent post graduate from a fine art degree, and trying to get my work out there following my successful exhibition 'Cacao' in the degree show.
About my artwork
I create colourful and monochrome abstract paintings, with a difference. Each canvas is made out of chocolate,of all sorts of colours and textures. Using such a tactile medium to paint with can coax interestng reactions from the people who view these pieces, some find the smell and texture delightful, some find it sickly and unusual, but mostly I recieve suprise from people who did not expect to see such versatile paintings from something they considered to be a disposable and guilty pleasure. I'm still progressing with them, and intend to work on a monochrome series of paintings.
Artists I like
Gerhard Richter, Heather and Ivan Morrison, Helen Chapman, to name a few...
I enjoy listening to and playing music, I'm an avid book reader and a film nerd.

Future plans for chocolate painting!

I love painting with chocolate, its a suprisingly versatile medium, and obviously a real pleasure to work with ;) You can mould it, sculpt it, make it any colour, tailor it to any of your needs. Chocolate is no longer disposable, and no longer something to feel guilty about! I coat each canvas with a few layers of confectioners glaze, which… Continue

By the way, I like the edgy, bodily quality to some of your chocolate pieces... that glutinous, crusty, flaky quality is half mouth-watering and half repulsive.. . and I think that works really well.

Thanks for your comments... Buried is one of a series of pieces that I made at a local area of woodland. All of my work is about exploring and breaking down boundaries between the sensing body and its material environment in some way, so I suppose buried is looking at literally embedding a figure in the earth and allowing it to break down and become a part of it.

Some beautiful work you're doing. I especially like the ones with the vertical bars of colour against the textured background.
