If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Conceptual, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture
I was born in Austin, Texas and began creating clay heads at the age of 8 when I lived in Houston, Texas. I began painting and combining my heads to the canvas in 1998. In addition to painting and drawing I also work in porcelain and mixed media sculpture.
I’m inspired by math and physics, art, fiction and all the texture around me. I try to inspire others with my artwork by engulfing them with texture, form and color. I currently live and work in Brooklyn, New York.
About my artwork
My pieces are large mixed paintings using pigment, resin, string, painted vellum and oil paint. They are very colorful, abstract and lyrical abstraction or dream like (some contain painterly creatures and some contain clay heads). All are meant to inspire creativity in the viewer.
