If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
About my artwork
When I paint information is gathered from strict observational study, no line is drawn without seeing and feeling it. My work is a study and an exploration. Navigating space and color on a flat surface is a means for me to dive into the not so seeable levels of consciousness. It is a process which internalizes physical information. I work off of still lives, recording shapes and passageways in a rhythmic manner until they fall out of proportion, then restructure the painting until a new space is comprehended. It is a dance of control and error, conscious and subconscious, physical and internal.
Organizing color and drawing lines is my means of exploring perception and existence. In doing so, there is a slow but fascinating increase in awareness. The connections among the spiritual and physical worlds are vast, beautiful, and intriguing. My process explores the meeting space of these realms. I hope that these works may inspire the imagination of viewers, engaging their mind and spirit in a dialogue of what may or may not be there.
Eric, Very good work I like your dedication to paint. Had a look at your website and you have some great pieces there from the construction to the later works using oil paint. welcome on the journey. Dan
