If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Conceptual, Digital, Drawing, Painting, Photography
I am...
I'm still working towards my goal. I have always loved art and enjoyed it. More recently- in the last couple of years- I have become more involved in creating work and have pretty much decided that it is what I really want to do for the rest of my life. I don't think I would be able to live without it.
I'm just about to do my last year in school (it could not come sooner) and then I'll be off to art school.
About my artwork
Obviously I am still in the old education so I haven't really narrowed it down yet my medium or subject matter completely. I really enjoy photography, collage, drawing and oil painting. I also like doing some mixed media pieces.I
Artists I like
At the moment.....

Martin Parr
William Eggleston
Irving Penn
Paul Graham

Braque
Peter Doig
Kandinsky
Anselm Keifer

Bill Viola

and many more
Interests
I play guitar (self taught) and saxophone slightly reluctantly- I'm not really a fan of jazz. I prefer guitar much more. I'm increasingly interested in independent music labels and bands/singers, but also a lot of older, more popular music from mainly from rock and reggae/ska genres, such as the Smiths, Joy Division, Toots and the Maytals,....the list goes on. Other than music and art I'm interested in literature, particularly Joyce, Margrett Attwood and George Orwell. I can speak a bit of French a very minimal ammount of German, but otherwise only English, not even nadsat. I would like to be able to speak more French and perhaps Italian, but otherwise I dunno.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
The Biennale in Venice (obviously) - it was fantastic, so much variety and new artists and inspiration. GREAT.
Also in Venice : Anselm Keifer small exhibition and Julian Shnabel exhibition (a bit mixed but some really good stuff there)

London - Tate Britain - watercolour (again a bit mixed)
-
Am yet to go to the Hayward for the Tracy Emin exhibition and Tate Britain for the Miro exhibition and also the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Accademy (hopefully I shall do these this week coming)
