If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
About my artwork
Statement of the Artist about his Artwork.(The Art of making Art about Art)
From the very beginning my work was "a search for a system" , into which I could fit everything, with a language apt to express what I wanted to say while including the viewer in the whole process, this may sound like a statement by any artist but in my case it becomes a quite specific statement, this system uses the comic strips, the art history legacy, the pulp art or pulp fiction, the scenes from old movies, the icons of the pop cultures, the parody and the use of a traditional realistic representations in which some cases is just an instrument to blind the viewer and trap the same into the travel of the narrative representation of the language of the painting.
I try to combine various individual works in a single, large ensemble, creating in much cases a "conglomerations"of pictures.Addressing art,History, politic, and social issues, executed in a manner of a big scenography of real life. I perceive my own work as mostly autobiographical,a relative definition in my case signifying the drawing of my own experience of home, culture, life and art, this in general affects me instead of the traditional anecdotal interpretation of my surroundings of the art world.
The structure of the process of my work begins with a collage of different sources, difference ideas and imagery ,pictures and text, photos from magazines, comic books, and my own
drawings, the next step is to mix it into a space that is plane where everybody becomes a subject or has a role, all this while finding a history and creating an illusion to a tale and in this way to mix distinctly different levels of content: the conceptual, the figural, the formal and the historical,is in as much as one mixes different colors like yellow, red, blue in the pursuit of a tone of color scale .this process of mixing subjects, verbs, objects is shown as a resulting combination of something deliberately and or by chance giving step into my new works where all this "conglomerations" is not just a conversation of the art about art ,its more than that its the very exploration of serious intellectual and artistic issues through imaginary narratives,my new artworks are centered around confrontations or chronicles of the art world ,mostly autobiographical with a touch of my own experience of how culture affects me as an artist and human being in this modern world.
To begin to understand my work you have to become a viewer of the vocabulary of my images ,icons and symbols that contain both abstract and objective elements.with numerous references to the European and American art ,since the begging of my career putting a little of my own art history and the culture of my country with the influence of the legacy of the all History of Art , statement which any artist in the modern world can relate and have also been affected one way or another with rendition of the reality of the art world.
