If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
I am currently a student at University studying fine art: painting and drawing. When I finish I plan to work within a gallery working around the different areas to then one day own my own.
About my artwork
While being at university I have come to discover my preferred area of painting which is currently on the borderline of abstract and realism. This is due to my style of painting which could be seen as realistic but my subject matter causes my work to also appear very abstract.
I paint smooth surfaces with the original idea of creating flat paintings but after a year of this I plan to take it that step forward but now trying to still paint smooth surfaces but also creating space with a realistic feel to it.
I believe that at the moment my paintings are very central in terms of the picture-plane, there are no specific areas that jump forward or are pushed back. So I plan to look into this as to make my paintings more interesting and also to give the viewer areas to rest their eyes whilst studying them.
Artists I like
I like artists such as Glenn Brown, Richard Patterson, James Rosenquist, Fabian Marcaccio, and Pia Fries.
I am interested in Painting, Basketball and motorsport such as F1, motor cross,
