About my artwork
As a conceptual artist, my photo-based works are constructed performances displayed as filmic stills. I use the camera as a paintbrush to play between painting and documentation. My work is all through the lens and on film as it is an organic process which is relative to my themes.
By placing myself into these narratives, allows me to explore human psychology, physiologically and how one interacts with issues outside of oneself combined with memory. Relaying on the form of the body to communicate a social commentary combined with objects or symbols to reiterate the social issues raised and their effects on us.
Along with the explorations of the mind body, I have turned to the environment and object that are also reflexive, but a mirror to society. The still-life and landscapes speak with the same voice questionings of people and how they respond to land or objects. These images contain a narrative in a single photograph.
