If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
a danish artist, painting and graphics.
About my artwork
Ann-Lisbeth Albek Sanvig has through her career always been deeply fascinated by the monumental scenery of the European cathedrals in Rome and London e.g.
And maybe with some contradiction, also been inspired much by landscapes, trees and flowers. In their way of standing proud from the ground rising up in the air, they catch her attention - just like the cathedrals of the major cities.
In the art series of paintings and graphics called "Urban mosaic" the viewer sees cathedrals and trees sampled in a mosaic of patterns, by colours and lines.
In this very new way of working with the motives A. A. Sanvig manages to make a complete union between these elements, without loosing the fascination of the cathedrals nor the magic of the widths of the landscapes.
Artists I like
Robert Rauschenberg, Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol.
I like your pictures, and I appreciate the words in your About my artwork section. We have some trees here in California that are cathedral-like; the Giant Sequoia and the California Redwood, the world's largest and tallest trees. Our cathedrals are less impressive, fewer, and further between...
