About my artwork
Søren Brøgger works with the visual pop culture. He is impressed with movies and at the same time very fascinated with the unavoidable phenomenon that he calls the media tsunami, where the vibrating colour confusion of billboards, neon lights, computer games, internet, and tv/movies all throw daily waves of impressions at the population.

The modern city person is highly trained in instantly reading and sorting useful and insignificant information and is therefore typically not aware of the barrage of impressions. For this reason, it is interesting to look into the media tsunami and make it visible via the painting and drawings.

The paintings are composed in a fusion of pop art and expressionism; with a touch of bad painting. He is trying to make people think in two dimensions and notice the kind of visual world we’re living in, because it moves forward every day, almost exploding via the internet – which is both terrifying and fascinating.
