If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
About my artwork
“My art is a visual projection created by stimulating the memories of the past and the present”. My works addresses my relations with cities as well as the ones I have with my ancestry.
My most of time spends in three cities of India Mumbai, Jaipur & Sikar. In these cities, I have seen footpath bazaars (vendors, hawkers) dominating every urban landscape. All these three cities may have lots of difference but the Visual of this kind of Bazaar resemble to each other. The current body of works examines the visual culture of these bazaars.
I draw mainly from these bazaars and scenarios. My aesthetic delineates the complex inter –relations of India’s urban & semi urban. It’s also show the effect of consumerism.
The decorative motifs floating in the background come from the painted fresco on the Havelis (Mension) of Shekhavati, my hometown where I had spent my childhood, Juxtaposed them on visuals of these bazaars.
The incorporated images are the photographs taken by me, later digitally modified and transferred on the canvas. The treatment of pictures has a simplistic approach. I have uses layers of vibrant colors that simply have strong individual personas expressing a subtle theatre of visual form. I employs ‘acrylic’ colors to create this vibrancy and for their ability to dry quickly.

you're welcome, I am jellous, though, you are surrounded by visual stimulation, colour pattern busyness and it's that noisy visual chaos that you have in your pictures, england's very grey and brown with little bits of pale blue in an ocean of grey cloud. Next time you walk around in Jaipur do me a favour and look at it as if you were me. I can only feel rain on my face for you, or the cold air on my feet when I go in the garden.
