If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?

I am...
A professional artist and online art gallery owner. I specializing in artistic nude and abstract realist landscape canvas paintings, I sell both signed prints and original artwork of mine and others artwork. My paintings sell world wide to both private collectors and dealers.
About my artwork
My work is a balance between abstraction and realism. Pulling both together and bringing both disciplines to form a self contradictory abstract realism.
Artists I like
Rene Magritte, M C Esher, Vincent Van Gogh, J. M. W. Turner, Claude Monet, Francis Bacon, Salvador Dali, H R Giger and many more.
I also take photographs, write music, think about science, philosophy and invent board games. I feel all these to be art as well, but I'm yet to make any money from these activities, so they remain part of "interests". But really they are no less important to me than anything else I do.

Hi Samuel, Thanks for your comments, I love the way you use paint and colour, and I especially enjoyed your nude work. A great mix of abstraction and representation. Regards Mark.

Morning Samuel
Thanks for advise and comments. I do agree in lack of "commercial interest" in my paintings. I'm trying to find a way to infect my work with some innovative ideas and make them more sellable at the end of the day every one of us have to pay our "lifestyle" expenses.
I was amazed watching your working in the studio, first of all speed and concentration on the work. It does look so easy and precise that people think anyone can do it. I believe hard work, strive to excellence in your craft and years of practising put behind your apparent fluid strokes and colour mixing.
Hope your enjoying this extended weekend. N.

Yes I do paint and sell.
You have a talent that will server you well. If collage can teach you to add something extra that also work commercially then you will do okay.
But really being a commercial artist is less than 40% about doing the art work.

I have just finished a piece, I'm fairly pleased with it and it's moving into an area I call abstract realism. Where it is neither real nor fully abstract. Somewhat less impressionistic too.

Thanks Samuel,
Lucky students at Middlesex university have access to all latest equipment and recourses available for us. So there are many opportunities to try, experiment and learn, beside having a good range of tutors, who saturates our minds with a great enthusiasm and encouragement so will see were it would lead to.
I do have some ideas for the next year art practise, sure be working on that through the summer.
What about you? Are you full time painter? What are you working on presently?
Like the idea of combining impressionism with realism, great outcome.
Wish you have a nice weekend. N.

I actually do all my paintings in acrylics, never use oils as I'm allergic to the the paint thinners.
I also some times I just use a camera, sometime I use digital media and some times just a plain pen. But mostly I use acrylic paint on canvas.

Beautiful paintings, full of feelings and emotions. Do you work in any other media than oil? Thanks Nadiya.
