At the early age of eight, at the behest of his loving father, Richard Laurent began taking art lessons by artist Lazard Luckner. A decade later at the age of eighteen Richard’s mother handed him a guitar and Richard began his professional career performing locally and internationally, as the musician known as THE EARTHMAN! His mother’s gift to Richard has lent itself to HBO’s Pledge of Allegiance, his entire original scores, and music for the History Channels-History Mystery, along with numerous TV and radio commercials ranging from The Goodwill Games, Citibank, and Oil of Olay.
At the age of forty-five a transformation for Richard resulted as his father fell ill. Richard learned that his father’s dream was for the world to see Richard’s art unfold, hence his first piece was born, entitled, “Now I Can See”. The immense connection between Richard and his father’s consciousness is the result of all the work that is on exhibition. Richard has created paintings that become portals into other realms and invite the viewer to participate in a spiritual experience.
Although this dedication was meant to fulfill Francois Jean-Laurent’s dream in his lifetime, life lends itself to no guarantees; Francois Jean-Laurent passed on September 8, 2008. May he rest in peace knowing that his dream has been miraculously fulfilled through a tremendous force called “Love”.
