If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Installation, Painting, Performance, Photography
inspired by a lot of what I see on TV or in films and by family photographs taken over many years. I find that the type of music that I listen to as I create a work defines what the final outcome will look or feel like.
I am also forever indebted to my year 9/10/11 art teacher Mrs. Theobold who first put the idea of pursuing art as a life-long obsession into my head; without her suggestion I would have been lost and unfulfilled.
About my artwork
At the moment my work is about identity and how we define who we are through family, culture, statistical facts and our past life experiences. My art mainly consists at present of textile materials and processes such as knitting, sewing and embroidery. I have recently broadened my work into areas of installation and photography, and don't plan to stop experimenting with other mediums, ever!
Artists I like
Vija Celmins, Janine Antoni, Van Gogh, Gerhard Richter, Simon Patterson, Ann Hamilton, Andy Goldsworthy, Roy Lichtenstein.
I love movies of most types but particularly action films like Die Hard, Speed and Terminator. I adore watching Star Trek as it truely is the best thing ever committed to film!
Planning new art projects to work on.
Having afternoon naps - the best time to come up with new ideas.

London, my studio, nowhere and everywhere
I've just got back from a collaborative performance piece in the centre of Reading. I have a lot of respect for performance artists now as that was hard work!!! Go HAVE YOU HERD? exhibition! wooo!
I went to London's Kew Gardens today and saw Henry Moore's sculptures - very impressive. If anyone can get to it before it ends at the end of March I'd strongly recommend going as another opportunity to see so much of his work won't come along every day.
How sweet you are! Thanks so much for your nice comments! Yes I love collage, I usually use collage when I feel the work needs more immediate expression. At the moment I am working towards an exhibition and they are all in oil pastels actually. And yes I am LOVING them and discovering more about their potential. :) Feel free to stop by any time you like and thanks for accepting my friend request.
