I guess with a son 23 it is obvious I am NOT under 25 - however, I do get what you are trying to do and there is a place for everyone. Under 25 is a category that is interesting and certainly offering opportunities for young new artists is a great in my opinion! I do think that the rest of us "over 25" ers should get together and create a showcase opportunity for us. What about it ---any one interested in a 35+ showcase? I would love to work together to organize such.
There's a place for everyone's 'noise' - a place for everyone's artistic point of view - and a place for different levels of life we are in. I love to mix up the ages and have the art just be the art. But it could also be a wonderful thing to really encourage us 'late bloomers' - those that didn't get started when we were under 25 - and still have SO much to say!
Anyone interested? It took me 40 years to get here - finally doing what I feel compelled to do. Maybe there are others...?? Would love to hear from you if so.
Blessings to all! (of any age!)
Rosemary
NOISE is a registered charity supported by Arts Council England, as well as a range of media partners including the BBC and MTV. The opportunities that we provide are legal and an invaluable opportunity for creative people 25 or under to be given a kick start to their future careers.
We also aim to support those people over 25, as there are still opportunities to register on the NOISE site; receive the NOISE newsletter, full of events and opportunities to further their creative careers. In addition to this they can browse other artists on the NOISE website, rate new artwork and find international collaborators by adding to your ‘I want to work with’ playlist.
There are many things to do besides submitting work when you join the NOISE online community for creative’s!
So Noise Festival is Ageist! Are you sure that's still legal? I'm not. Someone should check it out. It's not that I don't believe that people have nothing to say when they are 25 - it's just that they might have rather more to say when they are 55 and are sometimes better at saying it. In any event, no age group should be preferenced. Personally, I resent this kind of discrimination - and suspect that one day you will too.
