About my artwork
My work explores landscape and its elements through direct experience of the environment around me. I take bits and pieces of my surroundings and assemble them into imaginary environments. The work investigates the concepts of history, personal memories and everyday rituals, as well as identity and assimilation. A sense of place is very important to me, especially since immigrating from the Soviet Union.
I like the sprawling of your lines and forms; the idea of creating environments is one I share. Since you are using some materials, like coffee, that may fade over time, you might be interested in our Deterioration in Art Group. - Dee
