If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
About my artwork
My work moves itself, above all, in a social and political criticism inside a contemporary reality. I unfolds this reality, which is common to us, in a implied way. I privileges patterns of information collecting photographs from the mass media, such as newspapers, magazines or images taken from the television. I use these “models” of mine for the accomplishment of pictorial compositions, which are the substratum of the representations of figures and bodies of my painting, faced as an inevitability of the daily life.
Artists I like
Jenny Saville, Helnwein, David Salle, Sigmar Polke, Ron Mueck, Fiona Rae, Gary Hill, João Penalva, Bill Viola, Douglas Gordan, among others.
books, architecture, music, creative people, traveling and so one...
I admire your technique - your images are striking, the use of colour is glorious. My favourite one is with the black birds, i find it compelling - black birds are meant to bring good luck if you feed them. Sioux
Thanks so much for your kind comments...You are so right in that it is very difficult to reinvent and find new approaches to painting. I still at the very early stage of development in this new body of work. I am moving forward and seeing where it takes me.
Your work is very interesting and powerful as well. Such simple complexity. Please keep in touch....and continued success!..
