If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Drawing, Installation, Painting
I am...
a recently re-located NY artist, now living (temporarily?) in northern Florida. I am a painter, and do many drawings, both of which are sometimes shown in Installation environments. While living in Williamsburgh Brooklyn for the last 9 years, I also curated and co-curated shows with and for other artists, worked on catalogs for shows, and wrote some articles.
About my artwork
My work is figurative, and represenational, it is usually done in oil on canvas and various materials on paper or board. I have a distinct relationship to the historical art of the past before modernism, and have used small thrift store and family photo frames in installation settings with my drawings for the last several years. This tendancy has now become more elaborate in my work here in Florida, and has resulted in a co-hesive body of work still in development that references the real history of the area.
Artists I like
too many to note really. Historically and contemporary.
History, art, nature, animals, human rights.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Turner at the Met, Art Fairs abound.
Centre of the artworld:
New York, London, Beijing, my studio

Hey Linda. Yes, like it or not New York is the center of the art world, IMHO. Used to be Paris, now it's New York. But that is just the commercial art world. The REAL art world can be in very unlikely places. Even Florida.
