About my artwork
I am a very independent person, and probably my paintings are too. Not difficult, but every painting is different. There is not only one style that I like to work in.
I have lived in several countries and I travel a lot and all the aspects and characters and cultures of the diverse countries, people and landscapes have a big influence on my development and growth as an artist.
I don’t paint because of the trend, the mode, the latest style. I paint because something or somebody fascinates me, or because I am fascinated by something or somebody. It could be nature, a landscape, a face, a story, an event, details of something, colours, a song, an object, my feelings, my thoughts, my dreams: - never-ending possibilities of improbability.
I paint abstract, collages and in the past figurative, often fantastic paintings, including portraits, still life, landscapes and nudes. I work with acrylic, oil, watercolour and pastel. In my collages and abstracts I use paper, seeds, leaves, pictures, articles, flowers, stones, seeds, poems and anything else I can lay my hands on.
I definitely love beauty. I am trying to express my personal sense of beauty in my paintings.
from a review of an Art Curator:
"Art for her is an additional sense, exceptional because it reacts to very different stimuli, and that makes her art so varied and rich, yet always honest."
