About my artwork
Semi-abstract paintings inspired by the weathering and underlying geology of the Jurassic Coast. It's both the strength and the vulnerability of the cliffs and stonethat fascinates and the time held within. By a long process of scratching away the paint and re-applying further layers, I am 'weathering ' the surface to reveal previously laid down areas and create a history of marks and 'time' held within the work. In response to the natural processes of erosion in this coastal environment, as well as working on canvas, I am now working on wood to produce 'blocks.'
