I am...: a miniature sculptor in wood and beef bone

About my artwork: bio. ecrite pour eux.
It's all about a long love story of a boy and a left over piece of wood, found in his father furniture shop. It started...this way.
It's also about:
cut hands, dull chisels, knives, cutting tools...grinding, honing. That my life.

It's also about adventure of catching the unique moment that petrifies in 3 dimensions the "idea" , the inner vision...
The will of carving, and being alone, against the will of playing .
I was not like the other children of my age and neighbourg .
I only wanted to carve instead of doing... anything else.
How old was I?: 9 - 10 years when I carved my first big cat.. 15 years when I carved my first horse etc... and always in wooood.
Am I a miniaturist sculptor? in wood, now also in oxes bones...
I love wood, my "miniature sculpture" { about<14} are mostly carved in wood, as wood for me has a feel of its own., wood allows a beautiful polish finish - even without paint or polish, instead of stone or marble which are cold, wood has a natural warm.
One who carves a piece of wood gives to wood a second life. One recycling a piece of wood may be save a tree.
I use old piece of wood furniture, left over piece of wood from furniture maker , etc..

Armstrong said…: Greetings Jacques...Thank you for adding me to your list of friends...Your sculptures are very delicate and beautiful...I'm enjoying looking at them, and thinking about how you started and where you came from...I do have a few suggestions, however...I would love to see more close-up images of each individual work on your Flickr website, more than one view for each piece, since they are three dimensional, and lit for each view...also, please create a space just for shooting their portraits, so to speak, so there is nothing distracting in the background...they each deserve to be showcased in a pure and clean setting to show off their individual specialness....!
