Founded and directed by Vincent Sator to promote up-and-coming contemporary French and international artists, Galerie Sator opened its doors in Paris in October 2011. Taking an interest in all mediums (painting, photography, drawing, objects, installations, video…) Galerie Sator endeavors to support artists whose work balances between conceptual and aesthetic poles. Man and his representation are at the heart of the gallery's approach.
From his previous gallery, Galerie Blue Square (specializing in contemporary Russian art), formerly located on rue Debelleyme in Paris, and currently located in Washington D.C. under the direction of his former partner Dianne Beal, Vincent Sator has continued to work closely with artists Alexei Vassiliev, Yevgeniy Fiks and Igor Makarevich.
With a degree in Political Science and Art History, Vincent Sator has worked in France, Switzerland and Hong Kong for public institutions as well as private art galleries such as the Musée National d'Art Moderne, la direction des Musées de France, the Musée du Louvre, and Blondeau Fine Arts Services in Geneva. In 2007 he co-founded Galerie Blue Square in Paris, specializing in contemporary Russian art, which he co-directed until 2010. Since then, he has taken on the dual role of both art dealer and gallery owner.
