I am...: DEPTFORD ART MAP details the most exciting galleries and art spaces in Deptford. From up and coming curated and artist-run spaces to established commercial galleries and warehouse spaces, each art venue has a different flavour from emerging artists to Turner Prize nominees.

Deptford has recently been dubbed by the New York Times,’ as a 'boisterous concoction of blue-collar aesthetics and intermittent hipsterism,’. With Deptford Art Map you won’t miss an exhibition or event, helping you get the best out of the Deptford art scene.

The Deptford Art Map website will be launched in September 2009 with multiple features, alongside a printed map available in all major galleries in London. Deptford Art Map is a BEARSPACE initiative.

What exhibitions are good at the moment?: Deptford is fast becoming one of the most talked about creative areas in London, with galleries and studios opening constantly, expanding the wealth of exciting visuals and innovative experiences that already inhabit the area. Each month we give you the opportunity to explore this creative hub, with an experienced tour guide, who will show you another side to the area. Visit galleries and studios, meet artists and directors, and have the chance to view and buy amazing artwork. A chance to experience a behind the scenes viewpoint of the phenomenon that is Deptford.

The next Deptford Art Tour

Saturday 1st May 2010, 2-4 pm

This months tour promises to be exciting and diverse, with visits to galleries in Deptford and beyond, viewing photography, installation art, sculpture, film and much more. The tour ends with a complimentary food and wine tasting at the Rivington Bar and Grill in Greenwich, providing a chance to relax and socialise. Meet outside New Cross British Rail Station, Meet at 2pm (please note this is not New Cross Gate or Deptford DLR Station)

Meet artists and gallery directors, in studios and galleries in Deptford, No two tours are the same.
Places limited, book now to avoid disappointment.

Price: £15.00 (Adult)

£7.50 (Child)

Please feel free to also turn up on the day, but do be prompt!!

Price on the day will be £17 for adults and £10 for children.
