About my artwork
Artist Statement | I’m fascinated with humans, not only their aesthetic beauty but also the intangible human spirit, our inherent nature to try to transcend a mere animal existence.
A big aspect I want to touch on was the realty of spirituality. Every culture has a belief system that involves the supernatural; this is a universal role in cultural anthropology and sociology. If we deny this very element that is what differentiates us as humans for animals, we are left with a part of us longing for more to life, this is due to the fact that we are leaving a big part of us unfulfilled. I'm not trying to tell you what to believe; in fact I would encrouage everyone to think for him or herself, and try to understand what things mean. I say this because from a social interactivitist's perspective, when you look for meaning in something you'll find it. So if you look for what good came from this situation you'll find it. If you look for what good can come from your life, you'll find it. The answers to the questions we have are out there, but we have to be willing to ask ourselves the toughest questions or we'll never find the most fundamental truths.
Religitrons | Here comes the Religitrons. A pop-rock band for the Ages. These Religious Robots are on a Quest... While looking for the Mystical Master of Funky Beats, Messiahtron, Islamitron and Baha'itron serendipitously meet each other and form a multi-faith worship band.
Now the Religitrons are looking to fill out their sound with a few more members, because they know, once they meet the Mystical Master of Funky Beats they're going to the Top of the Charts. So follow along as these Sentient beings, look for hits, and deeper answers
ReMyth | Drawing inspiration from Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Celtic and Biblical cultures, among many others, the artist interweaves stories of many histories in his artwork to create new and interesting narratives. In Starr’s hands, these narratives manifest themselves in life-size paintings, in small “Düreresque” prints and in music, remixing not only the tales but the medium in which each one is presented.
