If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I attended Yale University, lived in New York City and currently reside in San Francisco, California where I am able to gain inspiration from fellow artists and people. I paint to share life through my eyes. I try to express moments when people are living and loving or sad, and transform them into art pieces that are created with my hands. Through charcoal and pastel, I can put a new spin on what was once black and white and bring it to life with more colors. Painting is meant to educate and express the human feelings we all have. Through my paintings, I hope that people are reminded of the fragility of life and their luck in just existing. There is beauty in even the mundane things we all do and regardless of race or religion, we are all the same.
About my artwork
I paint with my hands and fingers, transforming the most mundane pictures into something emotional or more then what just meets the eye. Through charcoal and pastel, I can put a new spin on what was once black and white and bring it to life with color, usually infusing poetry, books or other literature bringing more depth to the piece. Writing and art make an interesting combination for expressing the human condition and the daily thoughts or ideas that cross all of our brains.
