I am...: Cristina Guerreiro is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She earned her BA(Hons) in Visual Communications from University of Central England, Birmingham,UK, after which she continued further study at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) in San Francisco, California, obtaining a degree in Painting. Living as an artist beyond borders, Ms. Guerreiro developed strong interests in focusing on International relations, specializing in geographical transitions and migration. She uses various mediums and techniques, to explore the varied special landscapes of countries where she has travelled to and resided within. In doing so, she introduces her relation and understanding of class- race divisions and economic segregation in each country. Ms. Guerreiro has exhibited in England and the United States. She currently resides in San Francisco, California and is a full- time practicing Resident Artist at the Mission Cultural Center.
