If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Installation
I am...
multidisciplinary artist, creating works which are autobiographical/feminist/related to body issues.
i am a founding member of the following art groups;
Nadja Artists,
Norwich Dandies,
11 Fortified.
About my artwork
I am inspired by the world around me, observing the people I see and questioning my own body and views on femininity. I am interested the way women decorate themselves and perform to gendered ideals in our daily masquerade and through the media. To me the ideals of female perfection are a fantasy which is far removed from reality and often far from the true beauty of what being a woman is.
I use myself as a canvas and become the work by painting myself and creating costumes. In the act of dressing up I become part of an over exaggerated fantasy which is a paradox of the beauty process. I document these performances and create a space in which something has happened or is about to happen, like I have just popped out for a second but could be back any minute. There is a sense of voyeurism in my work and though you do not see whole performance there is a moment captured in time using photography props and colour to create an installation.

Hey Christina, thanks for finding me; nice work and we certainly share some interests in our works. I would love to see more, of your performance, video, photos, but your link didn't work.
