I am...
Cell Project Space is an independent, self funded gallery based in Bethnal Green, founded and run by directors, Milika Muritu & Richard Priestley with a non-profit seeking constitution. Presenting a programme of exhibitions, projects, talks, screenings, and events, it is supported by its network of 250 studios in 5 buildings across East London.
About my artwork
We offer support to artists by commissioning or showcasing new works, focusing on an ambitious and experimental approach to exhibiting. Cell’s key aims are to offer a high level of curatorial, administrative and practical support with an aim to providing a turning point for practicing artists. Our aim is to make the shift into seeing the possibilities in artists work become a reality.
Artists I like
Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth, Mick Peter, Jonathan Baldock, David Blandy, Stefano Calligaro, Haroon Mirza, Mark Aerial Waller, Celine Condorelli, Alex Heim, Angelo Plessas, Michael Bell Smith, Mike Paré, Francis Thorburn
Cell are in the process of developing 'BENCH CLUB' a brilliant new artists' workshop with high end fabricating machines such as table saw, pillar drill, sanding machines, vacuum formers, spray booth, etc. All co-ordinatied by James Fermin, a VERY capable and qualified technician/ artist. BENCH CLUB will open its doors to artists in London who desperately need to fabricate work, make plinths and generally have access to some of the equipment they may miss once out of full-time education. The scheme will be launched later this year!).
