a resident artist at Gatehouse Arts, Harlow and am passionate about ,and active in the regeneration of Harlow through the visual arts. My work includes community based projects as well as independent and privately commissioned ones. In 2010 I graduated with a first class honours degree in Fine Art ; currently I am studying part time for a MA in Printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art. I regularly exhibit in Cambridge and Harlow and in Autumn 2011 two of my prints were selected for the Bite Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London.
About my artwork
My art follows idiosyncratic working processes and I embrace the use of diverse materials. Through this, I hope to prompt the viewer to reflect upon the dialectic contradiction of social expectation and lived experience. It is intended that reality, which is often rife with historical legacies and deep rooted ideology is also reflected in the resulting artworks.
Artists I like
Mona Hatoum, Egon Shiele, Jenny Saville, Alice Neel, Nancy Spero, Leonardo, Michelangelo& Tony Bevan - an eclectic mix and in no particular order
Figure and observational drawing, stitching and the use of this in print. Painting in Oils
