I suppose identity is also fairly universal too - I thought Yelena's recent work was a fascinating development, though it didn't strike me as overly intellectual - but then I was mostly looking at the work, not reading. She is also good fun!
I'm glad you liked the interview - it was created by students, so I think I was playing the artist-teacher role - I found the video on Youtube by accident whilst looking for something else.

I thought you might be interested in meeting Yelena Popova, a Russian artist who has been based in Nottingham and is beginning her MA at the Royal College of Art in London - the themes of her work are similar: identity, etc.
