If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Trained as a photographer, André Wagner/ DE *1980 creates pictures that are informed by social movements, architecture and nature. He photographs the natural movement of light producing a surrealistic effect of energy that when combined with the rotation of the earth as André puts it “leads man to delve into the mystic knowledge down deep in his soul.” His unique gift is the sensual way of perceiving internal and external phenomena of a situation. With virtuoso camera technology he produces authentic images that are not digitally manipulated. His atmospheric landscape photographs are romantically inclined and picturesque in their effect. Wagner often summarizes single works into series. So the moment depicted is deliberately loaded with content that rise above the purely aesthetic result.
As David Hernández de la Fuente, Author and Poet, Spain states, “The real journey is that of a man who is thirsty to travel towards his own center who leaves an unforgettable impression on the retina of a new view of the world and its elements."
André has entered prestigious competitions and has won several distinguished prizes. Perhaps the one of which he is most proud is the International contest 13 Hasselblad Austrian Super Circuit where he won a gold medal and thirteen recognitions. His work has been published in several books, in many magazines and in art catalogues. Exhibitions and study tours have taken the young emerging artist so far throughout Europe, to China, New Zealand and the USA.
