Friday 4th Febraury

Last Friday I hurt my back twisting to get my rucksack on, and have been in a lot of pain all week.  This Friday its too windy to even attempt an outdoor session!  Hopefully the weather will settle so I can work over the weekend.   On the upside I have finally got a letter of authority allowing me onto private areas of the park.

Friday 28th January

Two hours is all I can manage outside at the moment....that is wearing four pairs of trousers, four pairs of socks, six layers plus coat on the top, a lovely hat, scarf and two pairs of gloves. Its a bit nippy! After about an hour my fingers start to hurt, and after two I can't hold the brush properly.

Still I painted two canvases today, I am planning the private view for my show on 24th March 6.30 to 8.30pm. When this is confirmed I will post an event.

As I was setting up I was challenged by one of the estate staff, I need to get a letter of authority from the estate manager before the next time..and check… Continue

Thoresby in the snow

I really wanted to paint the snow today, you just don't know how long it will last and I haven't done it before. I figured that as the acrylics aren't drying due to the damp and cold I would use watercolours. The only problem with that is the low temperature. I didn't actually realise that it was below freezing today (those base layers are really doing their thing!).

The water was turning into slush and as I put a wash on the paper it froze almost…
