I'd be interested to hear how public subsidy is affecting art in your part of the world. In the UK the tail seems to be wagging the dog. In order to receive funding an artist has to conform to the narrow criteria of the funding body, which often defines not only the subject and style but also how the work is produced (e.g. public participation, analysis, etc). The result of artists modifying their work in order to receive funding is the creeping establishment of a State approved art - homogenous and frequently more concerned with the theoretical concept of the work than the quality of the work itself.

I like to know what people think, because they are like books, I can read them and learn from them. And I'm not afraid to open my world to anyone. So it's a very good one group of these if is there really such exchange.
