I have done a painting of "The Fool" and it is a motif I am familiar with from Tarot to Shakespeare.

Who or what is the Fool? The Fool is the Jester, the Harlequin, the Clown and the Joker. And perhaps is the Magician, and perhaps is Death. The Fool's disguise is not limited to any character. But what is it that the Fool represents, or is that merely begging a subjective response? The Fool transcends cultural boundaries and encompasses tragedy, humour, fearlessness, wit, death (but not dying) and arrives always on time.
What, and who, is the Fool?
