The_CALLAS_Challenge[1].pdfDear members,
the CALLAS project, deals with technology applied to New Media, Art, Entertainment experimenting multimodality and affective computing. A Community is going to be launched soon, to participate our scientific research goals to creative people and artists, that can complement our understanding of the challenges in those fields. I have enclosed a paper that summarises the project objectives for your convenience. You all are invited to join our Community that will be advertised at www.callas-newmedia.eu. The web site is under revision during this week, but it will be shortly updated with news and announcements. In the meantime, please send me email at t.scuderi@nexture.it .

I started out as an idiot savant graphic designers in the 80's and then started to push the software to do different things with it....

would love to get some feedback on the work. Thanks

Hello to all members of digital arts. Found myself balancing between traditional art, photography and digital manipulation. Believe in metarealism as the manner to to depict the reality which exist beyond psychological subjective perspective. Invite to visit my works at http://www.uniart.net

Le numérique n'est qu'un outil comme le pinceau, le crayon ou la plume. C'est à l'artiste de maîtriser l'outil. C'est cette maîtrise qui le différencie des amateurs.

A computer's a tool. Like a brush, camera, pencil, glue or a welding tank. If the image is compelling it will capture the imagination of those who walk by.There is too much consideration of "process" , "concept" or "technigue" If it works it's more magic than man-made.
The other prime (2nd Prime?) use of digital is distribution.
I'm sure the early printing press and photo darkrooms were reviled by the "mark-makers" who thought that if you don't personally put your colored dirt on paper/cloth you've sold your artistic soul.
The future of digital will, as all tools will be to help combine w other tools in the act of creation.
At least thats the was I figure it.
thanks for listenin, N
