To Vincent, My Friend

This Is my 1st painting in 1993 that I painted without any previous knowledge or love of art.

Vincent in The Straw Hat.

I sold it in just eight minutes for £180.00, a weeks wage back then.

I felt Vincents spirit touch my hand, as I still feel it touch my hand to this day in 2008.

Vincent is my guide, my friend.

Thank you Vincent for being in my mind.

Dawn.

Some of the my works featured here on art review, where I have felt Vincent guide my hand, a few have not survived, but the ones that have are here.

Can you tell which ones they are?

To Vincent, My Friend.

In the summer of 1993, Vincent you came to me.
You touched my hand and linked our souls.
Why me? Why me?
You’re energy ignited me, touched my inner light.
You guide me through my darkest night.
No one understands ‘us’, they think they do, no one can feel or think the way that ‘WE’ do.
I hear your voice, I feel your hands, and you show me your light and how to stand.
You guide my hands, you guide my paint, you tell me clearly, so very dearly.
How can ‘WE’ make them understand, the beautiful way you touch my hand?
I have a gift, thanks to you, it has helped me through.
My hands paint fast, it is so clear; I listen when you are so near.
I feel your touch, I feel your pain, I feel the sorrow-without your gain.
The World watches you, hypes you up.
“What a joke” I hear you say.
You are a Master of Art, You knew it then, what is wrong with the mad men?
You were not crazy back then, just an artist with a voice, no one listened back then.
“So hear this” I hear you say, “Now look at me now I’m away, watch me smile and laugh out loud, as I watch YOU all bid away”.
“What fool’s you are and Mad Men be- to give your wealth away in glee”.

As I come back and help dear Dawn on this Great October Morn.
We both laugh out loud and work on our art that found us both from the start.
We use the channels to portray our energy thought, our magnetic moments.
So now what will be the out come of this?
Who cares, we have our dreams our Spirits alive.
Watch and wonder how Dear Dawn breaks on this October Morn.
Watch her paint with peace and light, her brush strokes shine in tune with her mind.
Bid away you mad men are, as ‘WE’ watch away with glee.
So who is mad in the end, not ‘WE’, we have to go quietly on.
Now let me pass you to My Dear Dawn as she shows you all the way to go, Listen with your eye, the eye so pure.
You will learn the upper score.
Bow your heads in shame, to ‘US’ it is all the same.

Dawn and Vincent.

Thanks Dawn.
Thought you might appreciate this. I wrote it a few years ago when I was making art about the 12th Cent. French philosopher Peter Abelard and his lover and wife Heloise. It is about my perceived connection accross time that I felt. I think you will like it. (I was walking on the beach when it came to me)

These frothing mountains,
pushing hard againsed my shore,
Are they your waves too
from another place?

Did these sparkles fall upon
your shoulders?
Were the stars reflected in your mirrors
As they are in mine?

Passing white sandy floors,
Mounding time before it,
The sea, the catylist,
The link between your world and mine.

As the tale unwinds,
All too clear the images,
So familiar are there.
The garden by the sea,
In which Heliose awaits her lover.

Only when Diana's light
Passes accross her face,
Can Abelard return
To the place where dreams are made.

I like how the brush strokes in the above picture seam to radiate from the eye. I'm no painter though because when I add color I ruin things. I can sketch and I do paint some of my sculpture in order to enhance the resemblance to the subject matter I seek to represent. It sounds like you are motivated in spirit and perhaps we all are. I generally am motivated creatively by my response to some outside current or relavant stimulouse. Aside from abstracts and theme based sculpture I will often study an image on the internet as a muse. My abstracts tend to blow in random explosive response to some attitude. Much of the time the junk just tells me what it wants me to be.

His Love song

Utter divineness
The place to be
Almost the fact
So, let it be
I am at your side
The night creatures will be your friends
Hear! The angels’ callings
Singing their love song
Just for you
Do thy will all along
I am in love
Hear! See! And feel!
I will be at your side
Celebrating the holy honeymoon
You will be the bride
Shining red will colour the sky
Move; move on the wings of our love
You and me
Our way to the gates of eternity
Black and red will be united
Our callings will be the sign
The promise of the aeons
We mingled mixtures of pure ecstasy
The divineness of the world

Dawn,

The most important thing is that you understand that inner relationship and find out the meaning of this connection.
