"It is on account of emptiness that all things are at all possible," Nagarjuna's Madhkyamikasastra.

I really like this quote, not only because it is so wise, but because I find it so applicable to art and the creative process in general. I wonder what this quote makes other artists feel or think about. I would love to know, care to discuss.

I agree about emptying the mind of artistic dogma before tackling a blank canvas. I usually meditate and burn some incense to clear my mind. That is why I choose abstract expressionism as my style of creating...

I also like how this quote applies to the universe as a whole too. Without emptiness there is no space for being to exist just like my paintings.
