In March 2007 START was launched

START Is a magical Art education Programme and strives to make a DIFFERENCE.

WHAT START delivers practical arts education to young people.

HOW START organises gallery tours, artist’s lectures, exhibitions and workshops.

WHO START works with all young people in the community but aims to reach out specifically to teens with special needs, orphans, refugees and working children.

WHY START enriches the lives of young people by helping them to discover their talents and develop new skills they can be proud of.

HOW WE DO THIS

ARTITSTS START workshops are taught by practising arts professionals who volunteer within the Middle East

PARTNERS START establishes each project with the flexibility to work within a variety of gallery and museum spaces

TRAINING START offers training which is tailored to assist volunteers to teach young people within the community

FUNDING START is a non-profit programme. We are funded from donations and devote this money to purchasing art supplies and organising art workshops

THE STORY SO FAR

START has currently worked in Dubai,Jordan and Lebanon and has helped over 1000 young people to enjoy art workshops with visual artists, designers, architects and curators. For the programme we need to find project sponsors so that we can reach more young people with creative opportunities.

Jacaranda Images have turned some og the great lino cuts made by the artists at the START workshops in Amman into greeting cards. They are for sale at Jacaranda Images and at JARA markets. Proceeds will go back to START to continue the great workshops run by Laila and her volunteers!
