Night Contact is a new London-based multimedia and photography festival, bringing together and displaying exciting and innovative photographic works that provoke or engage in conversation with other media, taking place in Dalston on Friday 27 September.
Night Contact is looking for 30-60 interesting and innovative works from artists engaged with photography, to be shown in one of six satellite projection spaces around the main square of the event. (Some of the spaces will include synced sound, some will be solely visual.) Works could be well-thought-out combinations of text and image slides or more produced formats – such as multimedia video, GIFs, short film or work intended for installation – with some core relation to photography.
Please submit work as you envision it being seen, whether in individual slides or as a produced piece. Please also consider whether different layouts would benefit the work, as you would for a book or exhibition format, and bear in mind the projection format. Participants will be selected according to the quality of their artistic approach, diversity of concepts, the multiplicity of approach and compatibility with the brief.
Contact Editions support photography at all levels, providing opportunities for those already producing work to self-fund through the sale of editioned prints and show that work in exciting new spaces, and offering a hand up to those embarking on their first personal projects, through informal crits, online advice and competitions.
This brief closes on Monday 15 July at 5pm.
