The Brick Lane Gallery is proud to present our Winter LANDSCAPE; RURAL VS URBAN exhibition. Exploring and rethinking the approach to landscape representation, the exhibition presents a variety of works from seascapes and mountain views to skyscrapers and man intervened scenes in an array of mediums.
Peter Madsen presents his “Unintended Installations” series where he brings new life and examines these installations that are no longer in use. He often experiences that each of these locations encourages him to photograph them, as if they wanted to tell us something we have forgotten. Madsen, as an artist, interprets and shows us what he is being told. Also exploring the constant change and the stories that are told by our surroundings, Peter Sjöquist presents black and white photographs that pull us into navigating the spaces. They invite us to discover them as they reveal themselves and encourage us to explore our own feelings. Unveiling the aesthetics of nature and exploring their change as well, Roy Hessing photographs the disturbance and movement suffered in nature and rural settings, whether through man intervention or natural causes.
You are warmly welcome to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of LANDSCAPE; RURAL VS URBAN at The Brick Lane Gallery – The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 9th December 2015.
