This summer, Gasworks presents a new programme, aiming to support the development of art practice with temporal, social or performative focus.
The programme merges the process and product of art making, offering a space for exploration and encouraging experimenting with contemporary forms of live art practice.
During this 60-day project, Gasworks will host a range of event-based projects, workshops, and performances, by international artists with diverse backgrounds and practices.
In the centre of Situation | Event are Gasworks’ first performance based residencies, chosen through an open call from over 270 submissions.
The selected artists are Alex Cechetti (Italy), Antoine Davenne (France) and Achim Lengerer (Germany), Marcy Saude (USA) and Alice Theobald (UK).
These artists will develope projects at Gasworks over varying periods of time, ranging from one week to two months. Their working processes will be made visible to the public through a series of interventions, socially engaged projects, performances or other event-based activities.
For information on particular projects please see the Gasworks Website
