In this 2 day intensive workshop you will learn most Ableton Live tools, from basics to more complexe features. We want to teach you the various concepts through practice, rather than just theory. With the help of existing clips and loops you will build a simple song and learn how to play it live. Eventually, you will be able to make music with your own sound sources and recordings.
Andre Wakko is a composer, dj, sound designer, software developer, installation artist and multimedia performer. His work is an investigation of computer music, sonic space and generative art. Between music, caipirinhas and bananas, he emerged from the independent electronic music scene in Belo Horizonte – Brazil; putting on street parties, sound attacks and electronic carnivals. After 3 years as a music and party producer, he built, together with his crew, the BLACKMAIL club, bombarding the city with crazy after hour sessions.
In 2009 he decide to move permanently to Berlin, developing his own style, mixing cultural backgrounds in a washing machine, spinning dirty clothes and white hi-hats. He also started a side project: B.i.S.C.A.T.E with long term Portuguese friend and producer, Riccardo Ferreira. Their first releases were followed on TONKIND, FREIZEITGLAUBEN, Dialtone and Da:Sein. In parallel with the club scene, Andre also started exploring interactive sound installations and audio-visual performances. The result of his work can be seen around the globe, just to shout a few: UDK – Berlin, Ars – Linz, 3M – Sao Paulo, CalArts – California, Rainbow Serpent – Melbourne.
